The project has a total investment of more than 3,900 billion VND, using state budget capital with the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board as the investor. The project is expected to be basically completed in 2025.
The project has a route length of about 51.94 km. Of which, the Rach Soi - Ben Nhat section has a length of about 11.2km (starting point at Km0+000 (Km 88+540 National Highway 61) in Chau Thanh district, Kien Giang province; ending point at Km 11+200 (Km 77+00 Highway 61) in Giong Rieng district, Kien Giang province). The Go Quao - Vinh Thuan section has a length of about 40.74 km (starting point Km20+600 (Km 67+213 National Highway 61) in Go Quao district, Kien Giang province; End point Km 61+342 (Km 67+174 National Highway 61) in Vinh Thuan district, Kien Giang province).
Regarding the construction scale, the completed phase is according to the scale of a level III plain road, 4 lanes, design speed of 80km/h. The phase of diverging geometric elements (plans, vertical profiles) meets the standards of level III plain roads, with 2 motor vehicle lanes, design speed of 80Km/h.
The project is divided into 2 construction packages. Package XL1 construction of section Km0+00 - Km40+500, by the joint venture of Hai Dang Joint Stock Company - HUGIA Development Investment Joint Stock Company - Khang Nguyen Infrastructure Construction Investment Joint Stock Company - Industrial Joint Stock Company submitted Long Hung - Thanh Huy Group Joint Stock Company as the construction contractor.
Package XL2 constructs section Km40+500-Km61+342.31 by the joint venture of Khanh Hoa Road Construction and Management Joint Stock Company - 487 Traffic Construction Management and Construction Joint Stock Company - Joint Stock Company New Sun Road and Bridge - Thai Yen Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company - Khanh Vinh Construction and Service Trading Company Limited - Delta Commercial Construction Joint Stock Company as construction contractor.
According to the investor's representative, the investment project to build Ho Chi Minh Road section Rach Soi - Ben Nhat, Go Quao - Vinh Thuan plays an important role for the Mekong Delta region in general and the two provinces of Kien Giang, Bac Lieu in particular. Once completed, it will connect Go Quao, Hong Dan and Vinh Thuan districts by road (replacing 03 existing ferries). This is an area where many ethnic minorities live, economic life is still difficult, there is great potential for developing aquaculture, it is a large rice and fruit growing area of the region but does not have a road system. adequate rent to exploit the region's advantages.
